Navigate your Luxe Career: Become a Luxury Brand Expert
Which brand springs to mind when you think about luxury? Maybe it’s Prada, Swarovski, Louis Vuitton, or Ferrari? Luxury implies exclusivity and high expense. In a world full of fast-moving consumer goods, luxury consumer goods represent a unique sector. Customers’ needs vary and must be considered throughout their entire customer journey. Therefore, it is essential to understand customers’ needs and adapt to them appropriately. To understand the needs and demands of this specific group, companies must seek employees who can adjust to these needs and possess extensive knowledge about the specific market.
Luxury Management M.Sc.
To gain this knowledge, Hochschule Fresenius offers a well-designed Master’s program called Luxury Management M.Sc. The goal of this master’s program is to equip you with all the skills necessary to gain attention in this special market and get a foot in the door of major companies. The program focuses on luxury consumer goods, their brands, and how to work in a field that offers exclusive goods such as apparel, accessories, luxury cars, and more.
With this master’s program, you’ll be educated by lecturers who have gained extensive skills in the field. For example, Prof. Dr. Marc Paternot, Program Director of Luxury Management M.Sc., holds a Ph.D. in Luxury Management from the University of Mainz and has over 15 years of experience in sales and marketing, contributing his expertise to companies such as Dior, part of the LVMH group.

Paris study week:
The Paris study-week is an important element of the M.Sc. Luxury Management 2nd semester’s curriculum. It enables the students to deepen their knowledge in Luxury Management and to put into practice what they are learning in the lecture rooms on campus.

In Paris the students attended exclusive conferences with Q&A with speakers as Marie-Caroline Guinier (former Executive Marketing Director at Dior Parfums, LVMH group), Jean-Danjou (financial analyst of global luxury sector at ODDO-BHF bank) and Marco Noya (Human Resource Director One Europe at Sephora).
The students also had the opportunity to conduct multiple store visits at luxury fashion maisons and perfumeries, applying the theory they learned in the classroom.
They benefited from a guided tour at the Louvre (Heute Couture Exhibition) and at Pinaul Collection Museum (Modern art exhibition).
Besides gaining valuable thematic information, the students enjoyed spending time together during dinners, engaging in tourist activities, and going clubbing.
Over 5 days in Paris, the students experienced the “Luxe à la francaise” with all its facets: a dominant industry, ever-changing fashion trends, the complex Maisons’ approach, the key role of merchandising and omnichannel distribution, the link to the arts and many more. This immersive week reflected the core values of the program: international exposure, hands-on learning, and direct access to the luxury world.
