Dr. Sonja Beer at the “China Forum on Opening and Development “
This year again the “China Forum on Opening and Development” took place in Beijing. Dr. Sonja Beer, lecturer of Macroeconomics, Statistics and Mathematics at the International Business School, travelled to the capital of China and gave a talk as guest speaker.
The Forum is a top-class event of the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, where many Chinese politicians, economists and media were present. It included important sessions on the new development philosophy with economic, political, cultural, social and environmental aspirations. Hotspot topics were supply-side structural reforms, free trade, and the international financial architecture. Dr. Sonja Beer focused on the trade war between the USA and China and its consequences. The speaker also spoke about Chinese-European trade relations.
“The forum was a great chance to conduct in-depth exchange of views on the issues in Chinese and world economy and discuss policy-oriented solutions – it was my honor to be part of such a high-level event”, Dr. Sonja Beer summarized her experiences.
