Global Immersion Program
“Doing Business in Germany” was the main theme that made seven MBA students from Berkeley College in New York and their lecturer, Dr. Maya Reddi, travel to Cologne at the end of October. The students had the opportunity to get to know Germany as a business location as part of a one-week Global Immersion Program, which was organized locally for the first time by Hochschule Fresenius.
The students visited companies such as Bayer, Novartis, Deutsche Bank, NRW.Invest, Drees & Sommer as well as the start-up incubator STARTPLATZ and learned a lot about the companies themselves, but also about German business culture. Another highlight was a joint workshop with students from the Sustainable Marketing & Leadership Master’s program at Hochschule Fresenius, where both groups of students were able to exchange ideas on relevant topics and learn different approaches and views. The program was rounded off by various city tours in Düsseldorf, Frankfurt and Cologne as well as other cultural activities in the cathedral city.
Due to the consistently positive feedback from the participants, the Global Immersion Program will certainly be held regularly in the future. “The Global Immersion Program to Germany exceeded my expectations. The opportunity to visit global industry leaders such as Bayer, Deutsche Bank, and Novartis allowed us to connect our studies to real world corporations. The Global Immersion Program corporate tours, networking, sightseeing, and local hosts created an experience of a lifetime which we will take far beyond our MBA program and into the global business world”, one of the participants summed up her experience.
