Professor Nayak at our Cologne campus receives university teaching certificate

The Certificate in University Teaching is offered by the Center for University Didactics & E-Learning at Fresenius University of Applied Sciences. The certificate attests to the extent of five days of further training and the skills in the field of university teaching acquired during this time.

Last year, Prof. Dr. Mihir Nayak received the certificate, which was presented to him personally by Prof. Dr. Engelsleben, President of the Fresenius University of Applied Science.

Since 2017, Prof. Dr. Mihir Nayak has been teaching the Bachelor’s degree course in Tourism, Hotel & Event Management (B.A.) as well as the Master’s degree course International Tourism & Event Management (M.A.)at the Cologne campus. In less than 1 ½ years, he completed all necessary courses for this certificate, which shows his considerable commitment to his students.

Prof. Nayak, who himself owned and managed his own hotel in India for 10 years, adds great value to his teaching through his many years of practical experience. “The certificate of university teaching gave me the opportunity to acquire additional didactic skills in addition to my professional qualifications and practical experience”, says Prof. Nayak.

The aim of the continuing education system is to equip lectures with the necessary skills with regard to high-quality teaching. In doing so, the university is following the political and social call to ensure the quality of teaching.
