Your study program in detail
The Computer Science (B.Sc.) study program helps you understand computer science for solving real problems through specific systems using a systematic, engineering approach. You will learn about the phases of analysis, specification, modeling, and implementation of complex computer systems, and how to structure the development process. Additionally, you will gain technological know-how about modern operating systems, computer architecture and networks and be able to develop projects and IT-supported processes within a company accordingly.
In the beginning your bachelor’s program includes basic courses in computer science, programming languages, but also mathematics and statistic as these build the foundation in many areas of computer science. Additionally, you will work with AI as well as algorithms and data structures, data science and data analytics. Topics include, among others:

During the 4th and 5th semester you have the opportunity to focus on two specializations according to your own interests. This way, you can further individualize your studies and gain a deeper insight into the topics you’re interested in. You can choose from the following specializations:

This study program not only provides you with theoretical specialist knowledge but is also based on practical experience. You will be continuously introduced to everyday professional practice and will be able to gain initial experience. Interactive learning, excursions, guest lectures, and workshops are also common practice at Hochschule Fresenius University of Applied Sciences. Furthermore, you have the opportunity to complete an internship semester during your studies to apply what you have learned in class in a practical setting. In this case, your study period will be extended from six to seven semesters.

Admission requirements
To be admitted to the bachelor’s study program Computer Science (B.Sc.) at Hochschule Fresenius University of Applied Sciences, your English language skills must be equivalent to Level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
