The Master’s study program in International Business Management (B.A.) provides you with a comprehensive understanding of related economic concepts, global processes, and international guidelines as well as specialist knowledge of English, leadership skills, and an appreciation of subtle differences between cultures. In addition, you will have the opportunity to get an additional Master’s degree by completing a year abroad at the University of Chester in the UK.

The major modules in later semesters give you the opportunity to train as an expert in your chosen field even before you complete your studies. You can choose one of four majors, three of which are provided at the University of Chester, where students wishing to obtain the additional Master of Science will complete their chosen major.
On the Master’s program in International Business Management (M.A.), you have the option to earn an additional Master of Science. We offer this degree in collaboration with the University of Chester in Great Britain, which is regularly recognized for its excellent teaching and support structures for international students.
The University of Chester offers the following Master’s study programs:
If you decide to pursue the additional Master of Science, you will spend an entire academic year at the University of Chester. Your Master’s program (M.Sc.) at the University of Chester will be recognized in full as a major for your Master of Arts (M.A.) at Hochschule Fresenius. Your studies will then be structured as follows:
The Master’s study program at the University of Chester is made up of 3 trimesters in which you will complete modules for both degrees. During your year in Great Britain, you will earn 60 credit points toward for your Master of Arts in Germany. You will complete this Master’s program with 120 credit points, including the points earned during your first two semesters.
With an additional trimester, you will earn a total of 90 credit points for your Master of Science from the University of Chester. The third trimester in Great Britain ends shortly after the start of the fifth semester at Hochschule Fresenius. Your regular duration of study will therefore be extended to five semesters on account of the British time model.
You can also complete the program in four semesters and remain in Germany. In this case, your major will be Global Management and you will graduate with a Master of Arts degree.
The Master’s study program in International Business Management (M.A.) not only provides you with theoretical specialist knowledge but is also based on practical experience. You will be continuously introduced to everyday professional practice and will be able to gain initial experience, for example through project work in the Social Entrepreneurship and Digital Innovation modules. Case studies in the Strategic Financial Management and Financial Risk Management modules also allow you to put your know-how to practical use. Lecture-accompanying guest lectures and excursions round off the practical relevance of your studies.

To be admitted to the Master’ study program in International Business Management (M.A.) at Hochschule Fresenius, you need to fulfil the following admission requirements:
You must have completed a Bachelor’s study program with at least 180 credit points (or equivalent).
At least 60 credit points must have been acquired in the field of economics. If you don’t have enough credit points in this subject, you may be able to acquire them by joining our Pre-Master program for example.

Your English language skills must be equivalent to Level B2 of the European Framework of Reference for Languages.
Application: Would you like to obtain the additional Master of Science? Then you’ll need to complete a separate application process for the University of Chester. Even though the year abroad takes place later in the program, we recommend completing the application process for the University of Chester as early as possible. By applying early on, you will secure a place for your year abroad and choice of major before starting your studies at Hochschule Fresenius. It is possible to apply to the University of Chester and Hochschule Fresenius at the same time.
Application Process: United Kingdom immigration rules require EU and non-EU applicants to complete different procedures. Please remember that all application documents need to be submitted in English.
EU citizens should complete the AIMS application form online, where you will be required to upload the necessary documents and provide contact details for two people who can provide academic references. If you have any questions regarding the application process for EU citizens, please contact the University of Chester’s Postgraduate Admissions Department at postgrad@chester.ac.uk.
Non-EU citizens should complete the International Student Application Form and return it by email to applyinternational@chester.ac.uk. Questions regarding the application process for non-EU citizens can be directed to the University of Chester’s International Office (international@chester.ac.uk).
You haven’t completed your Bachelor’s degree yet? At Hochschule Fresenius, you can start your Master’s program and finish your Bachelor’s program at the same time, provided you have attained at least 80 percent of the credit points by the time of enrolment. In addition, Bachelor’s students at Hochschule Fresenius will only pay the monthly Master’s tuition fees when starting the Master’s program.
